Cowboys (10-2) 34 - Colts (8-4) 14 Game Of The Week

The end of the regular season is just 3 weeks away. The fight to be division champion is heating up all over the league. The Colts came into this game with a chance to secure a 3 game lead of the second place Jags in the AFC South, while the Cowboys need to win to keep their one game lead over the surprising Redskins in the NFC East. Being a Monday Night game and at home, Peyton Manning had all the ingredients he needs for a great performance. Unfortunately, the Cowboys defense had other plans for him.

In terms of time of possession, the Cowboys had the ball 24:43 to the Colts 11:17. The reason for that disparity was due to Mannings 6 INTs., 4 of which were made by MLB Brady James. Peyton was 16 of 31 for 291 yds and 0 TDs. The Cowboys defense presented Manning with a defensive scheme he could not overcome. As a result of the turnovers, the Cowboys had great field position and took advantage of it. RB Jones had 2 TDs and 80 yds on 18 carries. QB Romo (11-19 for 151 yds, 1 TD) didn't have to do much in this game other than keep the ball moving.

With the win, Dallas keeps their 1 game lead over the Skins, who they will face in a big-time game in Week 14. Indianapolis will try to regain their grove against the Titans and hope to keep their 2 game lead over both the Jags (6-6)and Texans (6-6).

Chargers (9-3) 20 - Raiders (4-8] 17

The Chargers have a solid 4 game in the AFC West and took on their divisional rivals the Raiders, who at 4-7 still have a small shot at claiming one of the two Wild Card spots in the AFC.

By Halftime, the Chargers had a 14-3 lead thanks to two TD passes from QB Rivers (13-20 for 275 yds, 2 TDs, 3 INTs) to WR Steve Smith (2 rec, 94yds, 1 TD) and Vincent Jackson (3 rec, 57 yds, 1 TD). Early in the 4th, the Chargers added a FG to make their lead 17-3. The Raiders appeared to be out of this game, but QB Gradkowski and company thought differently. In the last 2 minutes of the game, Oakland scored 14 unanswered points to tie the game at 17 with 40 seconds left. The Chargers could feel this game slipping away and were determined to end it in regular time. With 40 secs on the clock the Chargers drove down field to kick a 35-yrd game-winning FG.

The Chargers are almost secured a playoff birth and will take on the 1-11 Chiefs in Week 14. The Raiders needed this win to remain in the Wild Card hunt, but despite the loss this team will fight through and hope for the best. In Week 14, Oakland (4-8] will face the Texans (6-6) in a math-up between two teams fighting for the last playoff spot.

Giants 36 (6-5) - Jaguars 17 (6-6)

Unless there is a complete collapse by the NFC teams fighting for a Wild Card spot, surging Giants' playoff dream will remain a dream. The Jags, who have fallen on tough times, are fighting for their playoff lives which are starting to fade away.

At the half, the Giants had a 16-10 advantage over the Jags. It was until the 4th quarter were the Giants took control of the game. With a their 6-point lead still intact, the Giants added 13 unanswered points, which included a 72 yards INT returned for a TD by SS Michael Johnson. The Jags are primarily a running team and when they are forced to throw, QB David Gerrard (16-33 for 210, 1 TD, 4 INTs) seems to have a tough time putting the team on his back. That must change if the Jags hope to make the playoffs.

The Giants have now won 3 games in a row and hope to make it 4 against the Bears in Week 14 and keep their post-season hopes alive. In Week 14, The Jags will face-off against the Eagles, in a match-up of two teams hoping to keep their post-season dreams going.

Jets (6-5) 24 vs Texans (5-6) 27 ; Tough D in H-Town (Credit: GOW29)

Good game as these two AFC teams did battle. Early on it looked liked the Jets were in control as Thomas Jones outran the Texans D for a 70 yard T.D. run in the 1st quarter to go along with his 120yards for the day. The Jets also dominated time of possession with 24:06 minutes. But later in the game the stout Texans D lead by Bernard “The Beast” Pollard with 1 forced fumble, 1 interception, and 7 tackles! As the Texans shut down the Jets with a final score of 27-24.

Saints (8-3) 40 vs Bucs (6-5) 35; High Scoring Affair (Credit: GOW29)

NFC Division rivals clash with New Orleans taking on Tampa Bay. This is always a great game and this one did not disappoint. Total yards between the two teams was an astounding 1,161 Yards! With a combined score of 75 points! Kellen Winslow did all he could to keep the Bucs close with 3 catches for 109 yards and 2 T.D.’s , but the story of the day was Chase Daniel as he was 14 of 20 for 255 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Saints were 5 better than the Bucs 40-35.

Redskins (8-3) 14 vs Falcons (8-3) 21; Slugfest (Credit: GOW29)

Down in Hotlanta the physical NFC East Washington Redskins took on the run heavy Falcons in a very physical duel. London Fletcher was a tackling machine. Fletch had 11 tackles and 1 INT. He had good reason for the tackles because the Redskins will have nightmares for a while as they will see #33 Michael Turner had 21 carries for 154 yards and 1 Touchdown. The Falcons pull out the 7 point win with running and ball control as they had the ball for 29:41 mins to the Skins 6:19 in the 7 point victory.
